Grip & Bumper Guard Replacement

Grip and Bumper Guard Replacement
Overview
Taking care of your racquet and your game goes beyond just having your racquet strung. However, grips and bumper guards get neglected and abused by players all too often, and that can be deterimental both to the health of your racquet and the quality of your game.
Grips
Grips are designed for one purpose: so you can hold on to the racquet. How profound!
When grips start to deteriorate, you can lose confidence in your ability to hold on to your racquet. Personally, I am very sensitive to even the most minor slipping sensations. Without a confident grip, confident swings cannot be made.
If your grip is old, come in to get a new one, and ask about what overgrips can do for you!
Bumper Guards
Bumper guards are the plastic pieces that are attached to the outside of the top of your racquet. These are desgined to protect the racquet when it comes into contact with the surface of the court. As these get worn down, they need to be changed in order to keep the graphite from being exposed. Your racquet WILL BREAK if you do not adequately maintain these.
The process of replacing these requires the racquet to be restrung, so please plan accordingly.
Grip Care
How to take care of your grip
Taking care of your grip is important, no doubt about it, especially if slipping bothers you as much as me!
In order to get the maximum life out of your grip, it is important to take care of it, and if you follow these Dos and Don'ts, you will find the life of your grip to be greatly extended.
>DO NOT, for the love of all things good, hang your racquet in the fence by the handle!
>DO NOT set your racquet down flat on the court; it is dirty, and that will collect on the grip.
>DO NOT handle your racquet with really dirty hands.
>DO try to reduce how much you spin your racquet in your hands.
>DO use overgrips.
>DO use a black grip as it does not get as dirty (visually) as a white one.
>DO buy a racquet bag.
